These are the ingredients I used for my Easter mix. I think it’s amazing, but feel free to sub out whatever your favorite things and cereal mixture might be!
- Very Berry Cheerios: The berry flavor of this cereal makes for a fun little zing of flavor!
- Mini Nilla Wafers: These look good in the mix and they are delicious, always!
- Mini Marshmallows: Cause marshmallows make everything more fun and festive. I used a bag of plain white marshmallows, but feel free to use the little mini-colored marshmallows with flavors if you prefer.
- Cold Stone Cake Batter Popcorn: This came drizzled in white chocolate and with little Easter sprinkles all over it and I think it’s a perfect addition to the mix. And so tasty!
- Bugles Chips: This adds a good addition of salty goodness to the sweet treat!
- Pretzel Rounds: I like these little round pretzel puffs so much. They are so cute! If you can’t find them, mini pretzels work just fine here, too!
- Cashews: These make for great texture and some good salt flavor in the mix.
- Golden Graham Cereal: I love Golden Grahams. They are so cute and crunchy and give a fun flavor to the mix.
- Freeze-Dried Strawberries: These give a tart and fun little bite of flavor to your snack mix!
- White Chocolate Chips: You can either do white chocolate chips or feel free to chop up a yummy white chocolate bar into pieces and mix it in the ingredients.
- Peanut M&M’s: I like to get the pastel M&M candies if possible so the mix looks so beautiful and springy!
- Milk Chocolate M&M’s: Same here, get the pastel M&M candies if you can!
Substitutions, Modifications, and Additions
The sky is the limit on substitutions you can make on this recipe! Use your favorite flavors of cereals and candy! I can’t wait to see what you come up with for your Easter Snack Mix!
Substitutions
- Cheerios – There are a ton of Cheerios flavors these days! The blueberry or banana would both be delicious! And there’s definitely nothing wrong with good old original Cheerios either!
- Pretzels – Instead of the pretzel round puffs, you could always go with pretzel sticks or twists! Sometimes you can even find Easter Egg shape ones!
Modifications
- Gluten-Free – This recipe is incredibly easy to make gluten-free! All you have to do is include all gluten-free items! Cheerios are already gluten-free. Most chocolates are gluten-free as well. As always, check your labels and substitute accordingly.
- Dairy-Free – This recipe is already dairy-free, so long as you don’t use any milk chocolate! Always check your ingredients, though!
Additions
- Corn Chex or Rice Chex – Some Chex cereal would be a delicious addition to the snack mix!
- Lucky Charms Cereal – Lucky Charms would add fun flavor and fun colors to the Easter snack mix!
- Muddy Buddies – Feel free to add in some Chex Muddy Buddies if you’d like a chocolaty peanut butter element to your snack mix!
- Bunny Grahams: The cute little bunny-shaped graham crackers are also adorable in this snack!

- Mixing Bowls – These nesting mixing bowls are fabulous. They store easily and the lids come in so, so handy! I adore them and I love the colors!
- Spatula Set – This is the greatest set ever. Not only does it have several handy spatulas, it has a few tiny ones too, to help you get every single scrape out of jars and containers!

Step by Step Instructions
This recipe is so simple it’s barely a recipe. This takes about 5-10 minutes total and no appliance is even turned on!
Pour: Pour all ingredients into a really large mixing bowl or a 2-gallon zip lock bag together. This needs to be a LARGE bowl.

Mix: If you are using a bowl, use a rubber spatula to gently mix all the ingredients together until there’s a good mix of ingredients. If you are using a zip lock bag, zip the bag closed, and then gently mix all the ingredients together and pour back into a bowl for serving.

Serve: Serve on a platter or in a cute seasonal bowl.
Tips and Notes
- Sticky Ingredients – I’d suggest staying away from any sticky ingredients that would make this mix hard to eat with your hands. For example, some dried fruit and raisins can be quite sticky and clump together. The Very Berry Cheerios worked beautifully, but the Honey Nut Cheerios would get sticky and clump too. Just a little nugget of wisdom to be aware of when you are choosing your ingredients!
- Airtight Storage: Pick an airtight storage solution for your mix so that it doesn’t get stale quickly. This mix will last several days, but with the marshmallows and the cereal you want to be careful to store it properly for maximum longevity of this cute snack!
Alternate Holidays
This is a great base idea for any kind of holiday snack mix! You could easily make this for Valentine’s Day or St. Patrick’s Day and just change out some of the colors of the candy! Serving Suggestions
- Baggies: This is so cute in little clear plastic baggies to give away as gifts and treats! It’s also cute to put into Easter baskets! I like to get individual treat bags and have them ready for little treats like this!
- Side: It’s super cute to add to an Easter charcuterie board. I’d suggest putting it in little bowls in a few places on the board.
Storage and Reheating Instructions
Storage
Store this Easter Snack Mix at room temperature in a good airtight container. It will stay really fresh and tasty for at least 4-5 days.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
For sure! Feel free to mix any ingredients that you want! I like the chocolate addition for one because it’s tasty, but for two, the gorgeous spring colors of the M&M’s make the snack mix look so festive!
Of course! Just mix the snack mix together well and then spread it out over some parchment paper (Or wax paper) on a few baking sheets. Heat up your chocolate and then drizzle it over the mix either with a spoon or put the melted chocolate in a piping bag or zip lock bag and snip the end and drizzle it over the mix. Allow that to dry and harden up (at least an hour) and then follow the same instructions to store the snack mix at room temperature in an airtight container. (You could also drizzle with peanut butter or vanilla almond bark! Or both! That would be super tasty as well!)
