Prep Time:5 minutesmins
Cook Time:45 minutesmins
Broil Time:3 minutesmins
Equipment
1 Crisping Baking Tray Extra Large Size
Tongs
Ingredients
2poundsChicken Drumsticks
1TablespoonKosher Salt
1TablespoonGround Black Pepper
1cupBBQ Sauce of choice
Instructions
Preheat. Start by preheating your oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with foil and add a wire rack if you have one (this helps the chicken cook evenly).
Dry & Season. First thing, pat your drumsticks dry with a paper towel to help the skin crisp up. Then season all sides with salt and pepper.
Bake. Place the drumsticks on the baking sheet and bake for 35 minutes, flipping them halfway through. If you have a baking rack to go on the baking sheet I like to put the chicken on that.
Add BBQ Sauce. Remove the chicken from the oven and brush on a generous layer of BBQ sauce on all sides.
Return to Oven. Bake for another 10 minutes to allow the sauce to get sticky and caramelized.
Broil (Optional). For extra sticky goodness, broil the drumsticks on high temperature for 2–3 minutes—but watch closely so they don’t burn!
Assemble and Serve. Let the chicken rest a few minutes before serving. Get those napkins ready!
